Eyelid with partial crease

Eyelid with partial crease

Problem: There is a fold of skin of the upper eyelid covering the inner corner of the eye in this patient with double eyelids. The excess skin must be removed in order to enlarge her crease.

Process: Since she has requested an expanded crease, it is necessary in this procedure to remove both excess fat and skin

Operative technique

  • Step 1: The incision lines for eyelid surgery are drawn.
  • Step 2: Using a scalpel blade, scissors, and forceps, the upper eyelid skin is removed.
  • Step 3: In this instance, the fat is typically removed or shaped.
  • Step4: The levator fixation procedure is completed

Final outcome:  The crease of her new double eyelid is much higher than that of her previous eyelid.

Details of the procedure

Duration: 30-40 mins

Anesthesia: Local anesthesia

After surgery, the sutures will be removed in 5-7 days

Two follow-up visits are recommended after surgery: one week and three months
